Our Rich History: Founded in 1916 as "Changhua Girls' School," our school has evolved significantly over the years. From its early days in a Confucian Temple to becoming a coeducational institution known for its gifted education program, we have a legacy of excellence and innovation.

Halloween Celebration Brings Joy to Minsheng Elementary School
Changhua City, Taiwan – Minsheng Elementary School recently held a lively Halloween event that brought joy to students and parents alike. This year's celebration featured two main highlights.
First, students from the music class welcomed everyone with cheerful tunes as they arrived at school, creating a festive atmosphere for the day.
Next, students dressed in colorful costumes, including witches, superheroes, and fun characters like Pikachu and Spider-Man. The excitement continued in the activity center, where a children’s band kicked off the celebration. The foreign English teacher, Jov, taught the kids Halloween words and sentences and then led them to sing a Halloween song. Everyone was encouraged to join in.
Parents also enjoyed capturing happy moments of their children during the festivities. The school included elements of Western culture by teaching students to make pumpkin baskets, giving them a chance to learn about different traditions.
"The activities not only encourage creativity but also help students understand other cultures," said Principal Jian-Yao Zeng, who dressed as a superhero for the event.
The school’s committee members and volunteers worked hard to ensure everything went smoothly.
Minsheng Elementary School believes that learning goes beyond the classroom. By hosting events like this Halloween celebration, the school creates a fun learning environment that helps students appreciate and understand other cultures.

萬聖節慶典為民生國小帶來歡樂
彰化市，台灣 – 民生國小近日舉辦了一場熱鬧的萬聖節活動，為學生和家長帶來無比的歡樂。今年的慶典包含了兩大亮點。首先，音樂班的學生以愉快的旋律迎接大家到校，為整天的活動營造出濃厚的節慶氛圍。
接著，學生們穿上色彩繽紛的服裝，包括女巫、超級英雄，以及像皮卡丘和蜘蛛人這樣有趣的角色。活動中心的慶典持續升溫，一支兒童樂團率先揭開序幕。外籍英語老師 Jov 教學生學習與萬聖節相關的英文字詞和句子，並帶領大家唱起萬聖節歌曲，現場氣氛熱烈，大家都踴躍參與。
家長們也沉浸在活動中，樂於捕捉孩子們開心的瞬間。學校還融入西方文化的元素，指導學生製作南瓜籃，讓他們有機會了解不同的傳統習俗。
「這些活動不僅能激發創意，還能幫助學生了解其他文化，」校長曾俊堯表示，他當天特地打扮成超級英雄參與活動。
學校的委員和志工們也付出許多努力，確保活動順利進行。
民生國小相信，學習不應侷限於課堂之內。透過舉辦這類萬聖節活動，學校創造了一個充滿樂趣的學習環境，幫助學生欣賞和理解其他文化。

Minsheng Elementary School students achieved outstanding results at the 113th Taichung Cup National Track and Field Competition for Elementary and Junior High Schools. In the boys' group, Huang Kunteng shone by winning 1st place in the 60 meters and 3rd place in the 100 meters, making him one of the top performers in the event. Other students also did well, with Zheng Yuchen placing 9th in the 60-meter relay and the boys’ team finishing 7th in the 400-meter relay.
The school community is proud of these athletes. Thanks to Section Chief Chen Mingzhu for her dedicated guidance and to the Parent Association President Ziqiang for his strong support. Minsheng students continue to show their strength and determination in every competition! (by Teacher Jov)
民生國小學生在第113屆台中盃全國國中小田徑錦標賽中取得了傑出的成績。在男子組比賽中，黃琨騰以60公尺跑第一名及100公尺跑第三名的佳績脫穎而出，成為賽事中表現最為突出的選手之一。其他學生表現也相當出色，鄭昱辰在60公尺接力賽中獲得第九名，男子團隊在400公尺接力賽中名列第七
全校師生都為這些運動員感到驕傲。特別感謝陳明珠組長的悉心指導，以及家長會自強會長的大力支持。民生國小的學生在每一次比賽中都展現了他們的實力與毅力！
Minsheng Elementary Holds Teacher's Day Ceremony with Special Guest
September 28 is not only the birthday of Confucius, the great teacher, but also Taiwan’s annual Teacher’s Day. To show appreciation for teachers' contributions to education, Minsheng Elementary School held a special event on September 25 at the activity center.
This year, the school invited a distinguished alumnus, Haozi (Xie Xin-Hao), to join the Teacher's Day celebration. Haozi, a famous graduate, led the students in a special ceremony where they pulled out “wisdom pens” to symbolize gaining wisdom and knowledge. This act showed respect and gratitude to their teachers.
Haozi was named the school's Outstanding Alumni in 2016, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he couldn’t return to accept the award. On September 25, he finally received the honor today, along with former Principal Hong Rong-Yan and Parent Association President Lin Jun-Teng.
Minsheng’s teachers are dedicated to teaching with passion, focusing on the importance of character education. The school also promotes its core SMART program, which encourages interdisciplinary learning. On this meaningful Teacher's Day, students followed ancient traditions by participating in a "teacher respect" ceremony and pulling out "wisdom pens." In the past, this tradition involved pulling hair from a sacrificial cow to symbolize gaining wisdom. Today, the students pulled pens instead, hoping to gain wisdom and do well in their studies while showing respect for their teachers.
Principal Zeng Jun-Yao of Minsheng Elementary thanked the Parent Association, led by President Lin Zi-Qiang, and alumni for organizing the ceremony. He expressed his hopes for the students to grow healthy and happy at Minsheng and thanked the teachers for their hard work. He also encouraged teachers to follow Confucius’ teaching spirit, giving every child the best care. Finally, he wished all the teachers a happy Teacher's Day. (by Teacher Jov)
9月28日除了是至聖先師孔子誕辰，也代表著台灣一年一度的教師節，為了讚揚和感念教師對教育的貢獻，民生國小配合即將到來的教師節，特於今(25)日上午在活動中心舉行敬師活動。
今年教師節特別邀請到本校傑出校友浩子(謝炘昊)，回來母校參與教師節敬師活動，由大學長浩子帶領學弟妹們拔智慧筆、長智慧，向老師們傳遞敬愛與感恩。同時，謝炘昊榮獲本校105週年傑出校友，當時因新冠肺炎疫情影響，未能回母校領獎，今日亦彌補缺憾，請來時任校長洪榮炎及家長會長林浚騰回校，補頒發傑出校友的殊榮。
民生國小教師們秉持教學熱忱，致力於落實品格教育的重要性，亦宣揚本校課程核心SMART跨領域學習的理念。在教師節這個別具意義的日子，依祭孔古禮行拜師禮及拔智慧毛，原應拔取獻祭牛隻身上毛髮，求增長智慧的文化習俗，今改以「智慧筆」替代智慧毛，讓全校學童們拔取象徵智慧與文采的智慧筆，一方面期望民生孩子們能增長智慧、考試順利，一方面發揚尊師重道的精神。
民生國小校長曾俊堯表示，藉由林自強會長帶領的家委會團隊和傑出校友進行拜師禮與拔智慧筆儀式，期許孩子們健康快樂、平安順利地在民生學習成長，也感謝師長的諄諄教誨，同時期望教師都能從至聖先師有教無類的教育精神，讓每位孩子獲得最好的照顧，更祝福全體老師教師節快樂。
The first day of school marks the beginning of the new school year. Changhua Minsheng Elementary School welcomed over 150 new first-grade students. In collaboration with the Parent Association, the school launched the SMART Train to guide the new students into the world of knowledge. The children boarded their special train on a new learning journey. On August 15, 2024, kindergarten students visited the English Village at Changhua Minsheng Elementary School. During the trip, they learned how to purchase a train ticket. They practiced using a ticket machine and explored various parts of a High-Speed Rail (HSR) station, including the ticketing area, snack bar, train schedules, platform, aisle, window seats, and ATM machine. This engaging and interactive tour helped the students gain a better understanding of the different areas of a train station. (by Teacher Jov)

Minsheng Alumni Shine on Global and Academic Stages: From Olympiad Gold to Medical School Success by Teacher Jov
Congratulations to Minsheng Elementary School alumnus He Chengxian for winning a gold medal at the 17th International Earth Science Olympiad in 2024! What made this achievement even more special was that during the award press conference, He Chengxian invited his former teachers from Minsheng Elementary School to join him in celebrating this remarkable moment. This shows his deep bond with his teachers, bringing great pride to the Minsheng community.
In addition, congratulations to another Minsheng alumnus, Chen Ruihan, who has been accepted into the prestigious National Taiwan University Medical School! Chen Ruihan is also the daughter of former Parent Association President Chen Kairong.
